Turkey day has come and gone. It was nice to see the cousins and other extended family, but I tend to get a bit exhausted when I'm constantly surrounded by people. It's kinda of nice to come back to school and get some serious schoolwork done.
My sister came home from New York too, and she once again brought me a bunch of free manga from the New York companies (CMX, etc.) I wasn't expecting to get more after the first time, but I'm really happy about it nonetheless! Of course, I won't read the ones that I haven't gotten the first volumes of.
I've started on Emma, Penguin Revolution, Densha Otoko, and my second volume of Oyayubihime Infinity.
I really enjoyed Emma. For one, I love the art work. It's so different from from many other mangas; very distinct looking. Of course, there is no action in the story, as this is about an English maid and an upperclass man who likes her. It's all about courting and the friction that occurs between classes in older British society. But if you feel like slowing down a pace and enjoying a calm little Victorian sort of romantic story, this one is really good. It's interesting to see the British culture from a Japanese point of view. Plus, the indian guy Hakim is a hottie. And slightly evil too. :)
