I bothered to update and snaz up my little blog. I kinda want to, I don't know, pay more attention to writing in it or something. I was tempted to just start totally fresh, but as it is, you can still see my old posts. (Self-miserable, whining crap that they are.)

Does anyone else miss good movies? I mean, it's seems all that's out in the theaters lately in mediocre stuff. You see it, and you kinda go, "Meh, that was okay." When was the last time you got to go to a movie that made you go "Wow"?

I don't have the time I'd like to watch my anime DVDs at the moment (I'm soooo close to finishing the first season of Gantz). But thanks to Youtube and such, I can watch fansubbed stuff. Which is great, because I don't have the space on my computer to download fansubs anymore (what with my AMV downloading addiction). Here's what I'm on so far, ranked by what I think is best to worst.

Jigoku Shoujo/Hell Girl
Ouran Host Club
The Third
Yume Tsukai/Dream Users
Kamisama Kazoku/God Family

I'm really fond of Ouran. I haven't liked a shoujo title this much since Fruits Basket, and for the same reason. I like it's likable, fun characters. And I found each episode (so far) to be a joy to watch, and that's a rare thing. Usually, an anime will have filler episodes, or episodes that you end up getting fidgety watching about half-way through. I honestly can't find much to complain about. I suppose some might dislike the pretty boys thing, or maybe the overuse of the twins pretending to be gay and making the girls freak out. But these things don't really faze me. If I had to choose, I suppose I'd want ADV or Funimation to license it, in terms of dubbing it into English. But I'm rather behind on voice acting on the Geneon and Ocean Group stuff. So I might tend to want everything to go to the Texas area. Meh.

The rankings are iffy for the last three. I've only seen two eps of The Third, but it seems it might have potential. As for the last two shows, they're in no means terrible, but they aren't anything spectacular either. But they're both pleasant diversions. Yume Tsukai has some cute ideas in it concerning how they fight, and has Seki Tomokazu as one of the voice actors.
Kamisama Kazoku is alright, and if you happen to like the character designs in Eureka Seven, you'll find the same kind in this show. Once I finish one of these shows, I ought to watch The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, or whatever it's called. I hear quite a bit of hype about it lately.
