I'm starting to think that I must be masocistic (crud, I can't remember how to spell that) to try and pursue being a English voice actor for anime. I mean, for one, it's not going to pay enough to support me, so I'll probably have to have at least two other jobs. It's hard as hell to break into normal voice acting as it is, let alone anime voice acting. And about half the anime community has such an extreme hatred of English dub actors that they'd probably just as soon spit in my face than be within 50 miles of me. And that's if I'm lucky.
Crap, I can't help it though. Anime is such a big part of my life, and I want to be a part of the process in some manner. Maybe if I studied hard and improved my Japanese enough to actually be able to carry on a coherent conversation then I guess I could try going over to Japan and seeing if the people who bring out anime would let a silly little anime struck American girl be involved somehow. And, from an acting perspective, characters in anime are so complex and interesting. So far, there's not much in U.S. animation that really compares (Although Avatar: The Last Airbender is pretty decent, and I still love Gargoyles). The idea of being given the honor of bringing an anime character to life in English would be the greatest thing that could ever happen to me.
Hahhh... Oh well. I'm out.
